Most Singaporeans (and many others) love Singapore Airlines for good reasons. Good track records of safety, good service standards and delicious food onboard. In fact, when we told our friends we are flying to Europe and United Kingdom, the first reaction by many is "Flying SQ?"
But... how many of us have flew on Garuda Indonesia airline? As per my own social circle, we only heard of 2 friends who told us that they had flown via this airline. If not for this 90 percent miles promotion discount, we will still be stuck in our little world, hailing Singapore Airlines as our one and only favorite airline.
We will be sharing a detailed (but not widely talked about) first class experience which we have experienced in our flights from Singapore to Amsterdam (SIN-AMS) .. and from London back to Singapore via Jakarta (LHR-CGK and CGK-SIN) via a 3 part series blog posts. At the end of this Garuda Indonesia series, you will definitely join us in selecting this airline as one of your top choice for travel!!
Before we get to the details of the flight experience, here's some shots of my flight cabin when I flew to Amsterdam from Singapore. The feeling of being inside this cabin felt like I am in my own room while on a flight. I spent almost 30 minutes just to orientate myself with the features on the flight. With so much comfort (and a bolster to hug while I sleep *smiles*), I just lost touch of time to the extent that I almost did not want to alight. Seriously!
I appreciate the many details within the plane, such as the starry night skies, big touch screen, massage chair, noise cancellation headphones, bottomless champagne and even comfortable pajamas and slippers to change into so I can sleep as if I am home.
Oh, and how could I ever forget about the more than awesome form of hospitality and fine dining experiences which we received from the crew onboard? The amount of attentiveness we received as passengers is extraordinary. We will definitely share more about that in our next 2 posts.
It is also a huge surprise for me when Mr OOPS had arranged with the help of airline to celebrate our anniversary onboard with specially ordered food and drinks. Of course, an even bigger surprise when Garuda was able to fulfill his special requests and invited him (who is seated in the business class) to join me for breakfast at the first class cabin together. Previously during our flight from Singapore to Los Angeles via Singapore Airlines, we were also going for an anniversary trip and celebrated our anniversary onboard. But that was just on Economy Class. While that was a very sweet experience, this one was mind-blowing. First class is different indeed.
So just follow or subscribe to us while we roll out our next 2 posts! We will share with you the in-flight experiences, including pre and post flight VIP services and the different lounges which we visited in London Heathrow airport, Singapore Changi Airport and Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. The only one thing we would miss out would be the VIP experience when we land in Amsterdam. As this is a discounted flight redemption, we would need to pay an additional of EUR300 per pax to get express check out to skip long immigration queues, exclusive lounge access and limousine transfer to the hotel. We didn't take it up as our accommodation is near the airport.
